I need help. I have an 80s icon costume party to attend very soon and I'd love some ideas on who or what I should go as. Here are some considerations, but nothing feels right yet. I could be any of these, but am really hoping someone has a better idea:
nice blog
ReplyDeleteIf you're Dorothy, does this mean I have to be Stan Zbornak? I'd much rather be Ronnie R. I could eat jelly beans all night.

ML,
ReplyDeleteI think it's jelly bellies. Also, fun fact, the blueberry jelly belly was created for Reagan's 1981 Inauguration. I think they'd make wild strawberry mint for mine.
Man,
ReplyDeleteYou have two of my possibilities on there!
Copycat.
love.

I defer to the birthday girl's costume selection and will avoid any copycatting.
ReplyDeleteBut come on, how awesome would ML and I be as Cindi and Lou Albino?
How come I don't know who that creepy little girl is? She ain't no Half-pint. No Punky Brewster (which is also one of my options). Who the heck is that? And I think you guys should be the Eurythmics...Michael wouldn't have to do much for that--just grow out his hair and wear a suit. I wish I could pull off Annie Lennox.

Methinks that girl is Small Wonder????
ReplyDeleteIt is Vicki from Small Wonder! Good memory, Nik! Do you also happen to remember that show about a ghost played by Ann Jillian called "Jennifer Slept Here"? Oh, eighties ... you outdo yourself in bad television that I cannot shake from my brain.
ReplyDeleteI just got a voice mail from Jason asking for my suggestions for him. I left him a voice mail saying Allie from Kate and Allie, but I'd rather he go for my 80s icon, or really my icon of all time, George Michael from the Wake Me Up before you Go Go video. The Choose Life shirt and the short shorts.
ReplyDeleteI hope you kids do this party right. We went out to this pizza place in Iowa that was apparently having an 80s theme night for their servers. Unfortunately, I think most of them were born in the 80s and they were getting their looks all mixed up. I nearly walked out.
I say be a Golden Girl. Probably because Golden Girl lines are up all over the place in CeskyVicki's apartment in Praha, and I still have one foot back there. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteBiker Bethlynn here,
ReplyDeleteI understand where Anna is coming from BUT everyone will think you ARE vicky if you come like one of the Golden Girls.....food for thought...by the way I love the new photo of Anna when she does blogging, you look so very happy and at peace.....what a joy! How about being one of the boy's from one of the many millions of boys bands from the 80's?!?!?
Hi, Bikerbethlynn. So do you have your own blog? I'm thinking of starting mine. That photo you reference was taken by Vicki on the ferry over Øresund, between Sweden and Denmark. Yes, there I am most at peace. You are right, we don't want folks to think Molly is Vicki, but that she is Molly playing...? I was so out of it in the 80s that I can't come up w/ a single original thought. I think I was living an internal life.
ReplyDeleteI can't see any peaceful picture of Anna, or rather, any picture at all. But yes, please, Anna, do start a blog. And include a slew of peaceful photos.
